Brooklyn Jesuit Prep students, staff, and families used the month of November to give thanks and give back. The student government organized a successful canned food drive where homerooms exceeded their goals and helped to meet the school's goal of providing over 600 cans to the St. Teresa of Avila food pantry. Furthermore, students spent November's Saturday Program, a time usually set aside for projects for the kids to take home, making place-mats and candy bags for Christopher Martins, a restaurant in Connecticut that serves meals on Thanksgiving to those in need. The month ended with the most popular Family Night, the Thanksgiving potluck. Families and staff sat down together to eat a good meal and enjoy good company. While the academics in school are important, the relationships built in the BJP community make the school a strong and loving environment where everyone strives to be men and women for others.
