The building is full! With the return of the fifth grade to BJP, the assembly room was full of students eager to learn on the first day of school, September 6th, 2017. The 97 students (45 boys and 52 girls) had a 98% attendance rate during the first month of school, come from 17 different Hispanic, Caribbean, and African countries, and speak 5 different languages at home, including English, Spanish, Creole, Hausa, and Urhobo. With an 8 to 1 student teacher ratio and average class size of 12 students, they will be able to fully engage in the curriculum of reading, writing, math, religion, science, and social studies and co-curricular activities like public speaking, art, music, and advisory once a week, social justice Wednesday assemblies, and sports and activities. Here's to another successful year at BJP!
