First Day of School

On September 3rd, we were thrilled to welcome our students back to our building. We are proud to announce an enrollment of 99 students this year, the highest number of students we've ever enrolled at our school. While our students and some faculty have the opportunity to connect at camp, our school serves as a second home to our staff and scholars alike. We're proud to provide a safe space of learning and community for the scholars of BJP. As they arrived at our building, our new eighth graders immediately fell into the role of leaders at our school by getting to know our 5th graders and showing them around.
Mass of the Holy Spirit

Last Friday, BJP held our Mass of the Holy Spirit. Thank you to Rev. Mario Powell, SJ, for leading us in prayer during his annual visit as Provincial Assistant for Secondary Pre-Secondary Education. We begin our year together at Mass to ask for guidance, wisdom, and grace this school year. Our choir led us in song, and some of our new fifth and sixth-graders displayed incredible bravery so early in the year as altar boys and readers. Lastly, we were grateful to other members of the community, parents, supporters, and parish members for joining us on this special day.
Theme Reflection

BJP scholars and staff gather daily at a morning assembly to listen to announcements, acknowledge birthdays, and gather for daily prayer. During the first week, we began morning assembly by reflecting on this year's theme, "Seeking Grace in All Small Things," which was introduced to our students at Camp Montmartre. Everyone returned to their camp groups to discuss their interpretation of the theme and then presented to the rest of the school. Although the theme is introduced during the summer, it remains a vital part of our program during the year. We introduce Advisory to our students during this week, where they gather with their camp groups for reflection and community building.
Fall Sports & Activities

We introduce new sports and activities to our students each season. Fall begins our year with track, field games, volleyball, soccer, step, and flag football. We're lucky to still have great weather during these months, and it's important to us and our students that we take advantage of that time. We are grateful to our teachers for leading these activities; they teach the kids new skills while taking the time to get to know them outside of the classroom. Sports and Activities are another opportunity for our older students to take initiative and become leaders. Some students help teach our younger students new skills and serve as captains of their assigned activity. It was great to see the kids back in action!
