Admissions FAQs
No, BJP's admission policy remains inclusive of all religious and faith orientations; however, it is important to note that our scholars do participate in morning prayer, monthly Mass, and Religion class based on the Catholic tradition.
After submitting an online form, families are asked to submit required documentation to supplement the application. Once complete, the Admissions team will review applications and reach out to families to set up an interview and assessment date. This process is used to set a baseline across all applicants and develop a deeper understanding of each student's character and academic aptitude. Visit the Apply Today page for detailed information.
Generally, admissions decisions are made within 2 weeks of completing an application. All applicants are reviewed on a rolling basis as long as seats are available; however, priority is given to any families who submit complete applications by December 1st.
At BJP, we are committed to maintaining small class-sizes that offer the best learning environment for our scholars to succeed. While we typically review over 60 applications annually, BJP seeks to enroll fifteen 5th-graders and fifteen 6th-graders each year. Due to our limited space, it is very important that families applying to BJP adhere to all deadlines.
Yes, all students entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade are required to attend BJP's Camp Montmartre. As a core pillar in our program, the camp focuses on students' academic growth, character formation, and personal development as a mature and independent leader. For more information, please visit the Camp Montmartre page, visit Fairfield University's page which is our institutional partner and camp site, or reach out to the admissions team at admissions@brooklynjesuit.org.
BJP is committed to supporting each student’s growth, including those with learning differences, while also being transparent about the scope of resources we can provide. We accept applicants with IEPs and 504 plans; however, admission is determined on a case-by-case basis to ensure that we can appropriately meet a student’s needs within our program. While we do not offer specialized services such as Speech or Occupational Therapy, clinical counseling, or self-contained special education classrooms, we do provide targeted support in several ways. These include Special Education Teacher Support Services (SETSS) for eligible students, accommodations such as extended time as outlined in 504 plans, and access to a school counselor for general guidance.
Our small class sizes, which are typically 10–15 students, allow teachers to know each child well and provide individualized attention whenever possible. Faculty work closely with students to offer additional support and adapt instruction within the structure of our rigorous curriculum. Families are encouraged to speak with the Admissions team early in the process so we can thoughtfully determine whether our program is the right fit for their child’s learning needs.
Please check our school calendar for specific dates. For more information, please reach out to the admissions team at admissions@brooklynjesuit.org.
