Nativity Schools
History
The story of Nativity schools stretches back over 100 years. What began as an effort to serve immigrant communities on the lower east side of Manhattan has grown into a national education movement, with more than 50 schools nationwide following the Nativity model.

The Nativity Model
This is a model that works. Founded on a faith focus and defined by three pillars--extended school day, summer camp, and graduate support--Nativity schools have a proven track record of success in helping students develop as scholars, leaders, and people of goodwill.

BJP is proud to identify as a Nativity school. We were founded in 2003 at a time when the Nativity model was being replicated here in NYC and across North America. We are especially proud to stand in solidarity with 18 other Nativity Schools sponsored by the Jesuit Provinces and our sibling schools right here in NYC: Cornelia Connelly Center and St. Ignatius School. We also have a special debt of gratitude to the Nativity Mission Center, the original Nativity school, which closed in 2013.
