September 2026 Newsletter
First Day of School

Welcome back BJP! On September 9, students met their new teachers, unpacked their bags, and planned for the year ahead. We were so excited to see all our students, families, and staff back in the building, and we look forward to witnessing the year unfold!

Sports and Activities
Students headed to the park to enjoy the changing weather, meet up with their peers, and expend some energy after a full day in class as Sports and Activities began on Tuesday, September 15. Students choose from a variety of options to participate in, including flag football, soccer, field games, kickball, and STEP.

Back to School Night
Parents and guardians attended an all-school orientation outlining the 26-27 academic year on Thursday, September 17. During the evening, participants met our teachers, saw our classrooms, and reviewed upcoming initiatives. We are grateful to our families for visiting BJP, and for their partnership and participation in school-wide events.

Fall Orientation
Orientation began on August 31, as teachers stepped into their classrooms to prepare for the upcoming school year. They worked individually and in groups, completing team-building workshops and other seminars to mirror student learning practices. We also want to give a warm welcome to the four new teachers and administrators on staff: Mr. Dunn, Ms. Fardin, Ms. Henry, and Mr. McCallam. We look forward to each of you becoming valuable members of the BJP community!

Classroom Preparation
The week before classes began, teachers arrived at BJP to set up their classrooms and get ready for students. Students will be transitioning from classroom to classroom this year, and staff decorated rooms to reflect the subjects they will be teaching. Ms. Fardin, BJP's new US History and 6G homeroom teacher, said she wants her classroom to echo the interests of her students, making it a comfortable space where they can feel safe to learn and enjoy the year ahead.

Kevin Rolle, First Vows
Kevin Rolle, SJ, professed First Vows on Saturday, August 8 at the Syracuse Cathedral. Kevin served at BJP as part of his “long experiment” earlier this year. He is pictured here with his parents, as well as Fr. Benz, current BJP trustee, and Fr. Gavin, former Board Chair. Kevin is now on to first studies at Fordham University. Please join us in congratulating Kevin on this important step in his formation as a Jesuit.

Yearbook Pickup
BJP students were invited to the school during the summer months to pick up their 2026 yearbooks, created by our student yearbook team. This year's team chose to dedicate the 2026 yearbook to Ms. Rosario for the help she provides at BJP and the kindness, comfort, and sense of hope that she instills in students daily. The yearbook also features superlatives for our recently graduated eighth grade class, and memories of Camp, High School Signing Night, the Christmas Showcase, and more.
