Saturday Program
Students got into the Valentine's Day spirit with a program rooted in service. Our students wrote cards to the Jesuits at Murray-Weigel Hall at Fordham University, made sandwiches to donate to a local church, and spent the rest of the program team building and learning about trust. We are also grateful for the help of our Young Professionals Board, many of whom dedicated their time volunteering with our students and teaching them more about service.

The Outsiders
After reading The Outsiders in class, our seventh graders had the opportunity to attend a matinee performance of The Outsiders on Broadway! Students engaged in how a coming of age story about social class, family and friendship is translated from the pages of a book to a Broadway stage. They were especially impressed by how a Broadway musical is produced and all the moving parts that are considered for a show.

Spirit Week
Generations, Future Mes, and Twins took over Spirit Week this year! We had everything from track stars and CEOs, to pajama wearers and lookalikes! One eighth grader, Sacred, said her favorite day was Culture Day: "My family is from Trinidad, and I like to show my culture and be able to express where I'm from with the type of food and music that is important to my community." We were especially impressed with our students' ability to visualize their dreams and share their creativity, going above and beyond with BJP Spirit!

American Composers Orchestra
In partnership with the American Composers Orchestra, BJP has introduced drumming as a new activity during sports and activities on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Students are learning about how to keep time, as well as different drumming techniques using a variety of new rhythms. This form of musical collaboration has been a unique and exciting way for students to pursue teamwork and community. Thank you to our guest proctor, Victor, and the American Composers Orchestra for partnering with us to bring such a meaningful program to our school.

Students of the Month
Each month, we award four students with a certificate that celebrates their abilities to embody core values of our school. We are proud of our Students of the Month for February 2026! Michael, Skylar, Tyler, and Jade were presented the Caring Award for consistently thinking of their peers and going above and beyond to look after their fellow community members. These students embody what we hope to teach all students: the importance of being men and women for others. Thank you, Michael, Skylar, Tyler, and Jade, for your commitment to making BJP a more caring place to be.

Sponsor Day
On Friday, February 6, BJP hosted its second annual Sponsor Day. This is a wonderful occasion for students to meet different individuals who support them beyond the classroom. It is also a chance for sponsors to step into the halls of BJP to watch our students navigate the classroom and curriculum. Agenda items included attending morning assembly where students led prayer and our daily pledge. Sponsors then joined our scholars for a breakfast before taking a tour around our campus. Stops included our library, alumni lounge, and sitting in on the eighth grade girls' math class. A special thank you to our sponsors for their generosity in giving us their time and fostering a space for connection and growth.
