Christmas Message 2020

Wishing you and your loved ones a very safe, warm, and Merry Christmas! This Christmas, as always, I’m thankful for your dedicated and generous support of BJP.

As the president of a school, Christmas is a wonderful reminder of how our community exudes the simple but powerful beauty of the Christmas story. Each of the students in our care has so much potential, but like Christ, they don’t enter our halls ready to change the world. Only through each day of learning, hard work, and fun do our students realize their potential and go forth into the world living out our Grad-at-Grad values. Each day, the small acts of loving kindness that take place in BJP’s halls and classrooms echo the simple love and faith exhibited around the stable’s manger. And each day, the students, staff, and community of BJP works to further its mission, hopeful in a brighter tomorrow, just like the shepherds and kings who would visit the baby Jesus.

When God came into the world on Christmas in the most humble and unexpected of ways, His parents had to make do with modest accommodations and only each other’s company. Hardly fitting for the King of Kings! And yet, it was in those simple and humble scenes of love, faith, and hope that God’s grace was strongest. This year has presented its own challenges for each of us, but I have witnessed how we have come closer together as a result. Thank you for making BJP's community a reflection of the simple and generous grace that imbued the Holy Family on that joyous Christmas morning.

"And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today, in the town of David, a Savior has been born to you. He is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
